The North Carolina Society of Directors of Volunteer Services (NCSDVS) has approximately 112 members committed to the philosophy that well-organized volunteer efforts are essential to the success of healthcare systems in delivering comprehensive patient care. NCSDVS provides educational opportunities for members through workshops and an annual conference. Eligible members can also participate in the NCSDVS Certification Program.

The NCSDVS is formally affiliated with AHVRP, the Association for Healthcare Volunteer Resource Professionals, which is one of the professional groups in the American Hospital Association. Mission/Vision/Values
The mission of the Society shall be to provide an organized structure that will advance and develop effective volunteer services administration in health care, thereby promoting health services. To suppport this basic statement, the Society shall:

• Encourage and assist members to develop their knowledge and increase their competence in the field of volunteer services administration;
• Provide a means of intercommunication for directors of volunteer services programs in health care;
• Assist in the development of volunteer services programs in health care;
• Establish and maintain professional standards and ethics thereby enhancing he role and the importance of the volunteer and voluntary services;
• Cooperate with appropriate organizations in activities relating to volunteer services administration that will be beneficial to the Society;
• Cooperate with institutions of higher education in the development of programs in the field of volunteer servies administration.

We at NCSDVS encourage and assist our members in developing their knowledge and increasing their competence in the field of Volunteer Service. By providing opportunities for intercommunication between members, developing volunteer programs, and cooperating with both related volunteer services organizations and institutions of higher education, we assist our members in achieving the highest level of volunteer professionalism in the healthcare industry.
